I came across this article yesterday which sparked some interesting thoughts! Most people would describe Lean and Six Sigma as a methodology. I have probably done this myself. But its much more than a methodology used to improve a process or product. It is a whole way of thinking, a culture. While this is certainly something I always knew and have also taught, it can be so easy to get sidetracked by the methodology. We forget that to successfully create a Lean Organisation, the methodology must be balanced with mutual trust, and a team that is fully engaged with ownership over what they do!
